Pearls of Wisdom

If a writer has to rob his mother, he will not hesitate: The “Ode on a Grecian Urn” is worth any amount of old ladies.

 William Faulkner

There's nothing to writing.  All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein

 Walter Wellesley "Red" Smith

About Ann

Ann is a journalist, editor, writer, essayist, PR consultant, communications and branding strategist and exhibition curator who covers advertising, media, and marketing.  A born storyteller, she has garnered recognition as a respected authority in her field.   She is a versatile creative thinker who has written everything from features, news and blogs, to annual reports, advertorials, brochures and newsletters. She moved from her beloved NYC to the glorious Hudson Valley, but visits Gotham City often.  When she’s not wielding her metaphoric pen, she can be found wielding a pair of skis down a mountain, preferably high and with lots of fresh, powdery snow.

Experience

As the former editor of several b2b and b2c magazines and newsletters, she's a skilled manager who knows how to get the best out of people. A journalism pro, she knows the right questions to ask and how to make content lively and compelling.

Her Alter Ego

Annie Forbes Cooper is a writer of fiction and creative non-fiction. This Scottish-born writer has published numerous short stories, essays and has also written plays, and two novels.  She is currently working on a memoir.

I’ve known and worked with Ann Cooper for many years, and she is one of the more exacting journalists I have ever known.  Her standards are high, her work ethic is legend and her dedication and passion for each project she undertakes is infectious.  Her insight and experience as a business journalist, curator, researcher, editor and author are hard to duplicate.  I would not hesitate to recommend her for almost any position or assignment that requires a sharp mind, a way with words and an ability to meet deadlines.”
